what came first cube or bedding?

Recommended Posts

Can you tell me what order I put things down when the chickens and cube come?

We are having a linkabord surround then some bedding (woodchip and aubiose).

What I wanted to check was is it better to but the bedding all in the linkabord first then the cube on top or put the cube in place and then add the bedding.

I was just concerned about putting the tent pegs round the skirt if the bedding was in already.

Thanks

Michelle

this is actually a lot harder than it sounds ! having moved to a fixed run and auboise over the weekend, I got the first bale in, and shoved the pile as far back as possible with a broom, through the irritatingly small door, I was then stuck with how to get the second half a bale in the back of the run . I ended up dropping half a bale handful by handful through the roof. Not a good solution as it took ages !! :(

I will look for a better solution in a a couple of months, when I change the auboise, and if I find one, I'll let you know. (however, if you get there first, then please tell :) )

I've done the conversion and drop down which is easy and means I can get in and out every day. But sometimes I just unclip the whole end and take it off to get inside for a good sort out. Its not hard if you lever the clips open with something (otherwise your paws get sore). :D

When I bought a run converter off of Claret she recommended using a coin, insert coin and twist to separate the clip which works a treat :D

Definitely do the door conversion - it's the only way to go :D

I have room to do the full-door-opening version and it makes getting in and out very easy and, as I don't have a fox problem, I use velcro ties to close the door, which are much kinder to fingers than the clips. If you do the drop-down conversion, you could use velcro ties to hold the top together as the lower half then remains clipped.

It's a bit of a faff initially, but well worth it when it's all done :D
