Miele girl here too!! I've had a Miele White Pearl for somewhere between 10 and 15 years and it is absolutely brilliant! It cost a lot, but averaged over the years, I'd say it's pretty good!

Miele here as well I killed three Dysons before I went back to bags I have the animal one also, fantastic. It is sooooo easy on hard floors and makes like work of the dust bunnies I vacuum the ground floor every day and it is still going strong

This is really interesting, I have a dyson cylinder a 21 I think havent seen it around now though it is an animal hair one and has a mortorised head but is soo heavy to move around nevermind taking it up the stairs. Would really like to sell it and get a lighter one. Its the rabbit hair thats the main thing oh and the dyson is not good at sucking up rabbit poo. Woul not recommend my dyson.

I am looking for a cylinder, bagless, non-upright cleaner which has decent 'suck' (say 2000W) and can cope with pet hair. I also want to spend under £100 and it mustn't be too heavy

 

Clare, I could've written that I will be reading this with interest. Every time I think I have found one I want, I read a review (Argos and Great Universal) and discover more than one person has something bad to say about the vacuum I have just set my heart on

 

I have one on loan at the mo' from my mum, a Swan, but it weighs a ton and isn't good at hair (which I shed a lot of ).

 

I too think I may need to part with a considerable chunk of money to get something half decent rather than trying to find a bargain which just doesn't exist

It will be a while yet Claire as Phil has managed to shore up my tired old vacuum after I'd done my best and thought it was euthanasia time I am happy to be resusitating somethign though rather than goin gout to buy new.

 

I've come to the conclusion that the less you pay, the quicker they go wrong so I think that the Miele one sounds like the best investmen when the time does come.

Clare, Miele quite often have specials of free 5 year parts and labour warranty as well so something else to factor in

Miele every time for us - we bought ours second hand more than 10 years ago and it's still going strong. Copes brilliantly with cat hair (we have loads of that), dried mud (we have loads of that too), and does a great job of removing cat litter that gets stuck between the planks in our tatty victorian floorboards! It is a bit heavy but it's well balanced for carrying, so we move it up and down between floors just fine.

 

 

 

Well, you have a great decisions of buying that vacuum cleaner. In it's more than 10 years ago and it's still going strong. That is great.

new electrolux pet car -upright with lots of attatchments, no bag & washable filter, quite light, OH got it last week, £110, works well on my floor boards, & you can select short or long pile carpet too. It was scary how much cat hair it got off my floors

 

I have a dyson 05 if anyone wants it, the motor is on the way out but it would be good for spares, it has a new cylinder (clear plastic that the dust gets sucked into) and all the atatchments - I would like to just get it out of the way, otherwise its going to the tip which would be a shame.
