I've read that garlic powder can help reduce smells but I have some Bokashi Bran and I thought (tell me if I'm wrong) that this serves a similar purpose? Also, does anyone ever put cloves of garlic in their chickens' water or treat ball rather than use the powder? It's the BIG DAY tomorrow - we are going to collect our 3 chickens!! I have done mountains of research about the best breed etc to get but I have a funny feeling that when it comes to it we will do as so many before us have and just choose the ones we think are prettiest! You can put a garlic clove in the drinking water. Mine always used to fish it out and discard it. Edited to correct typo. Larkspurs Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 We give them a sprinkle of Bokashi Bran and a pinch of Garlic Powder mixed in with their afternoon treat. Its great for firming up their thankyou parcels (poo). We find it makes the poo easy to scoop up from the run and eglu.
