Kittycat
Can someon give me advice on garlic please... I've read that garlic powder can help reduce smells but I have some Bokashi Bran and I thought (tell me if I'm wrong) that this serves a similar purpose? Also, does anyone ever put cloves of garlic in their chickens' water or treat ball rather than use the powder? It's the BIG DAY tomorrow - we are going to collect our 3 chickens!! I have done mountains of research about the best breed etc to get but I have a funny feeling that when it comes to it we will do as so many before us have and just choose the ones we think are prettiest! Wish us luck - I'll try and get some pics up as soon as I can....
Egluntyne
Yes, Bokashi Bran does tone down the smell of the poo, and firms it up too. You can put a garlic clove in the drinking water. Mine always used to fish it out and discard it. Edited to correct typo. Ain't Nobody Here
How exciting . Good luck choosing . I remember being all organised about the breeds I wanted - in the end we said, we'll have that black one, that brown one and that pale brown one . No regrets, they're all gorgeous and look lovely next to each other .
Larkspurs
We give them a sprinkle of Bokashi Bran and a pinch of Garlic Powder mixed in with their afternoon treat. Its great for firming up their thankyou parcels (poo). We find it makes the poo easy to scoop up from the run and eglu. Have a great day tomorrow Dave

wiblick
I've found Bokashi in an eco shop where it's sold as an organic composter, so that might help with your search.
