4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

well with all the snow and rain we have had leaks everywhere and my old wooden coop nesting box was getting soggy so i have moved the girls into their new cube i had to pop out at roosting time and wondered how they would get on i had popped them in this afternoon to show them their new house.Clever Ruby was sleeping in the nesting box but Ebony was roosting on the ladder to the old coop whose door was shut doh! so i picked her up and put her into the cube. will be so much nicer not having to go into the run in the morning to let them out!

The leaking roof has been temporarily removed and a tarapulin put over the roof to dry the floor out so i can put my Aubiose down. I have put the Super glug up and tomorrow will fix up wood for the grubs to hang from and hopefully get some shelves up.

 

oh and the wooden coop is minus its soggy nesting box and the hole blocked up so the new girls will have a coop until they intergrate.

Phew you have been busy but a shame to get the cube dirty Hope it stays fine for getting on with your plans.

oh thats cood, my girls went in their cube this morning as well, they gave me some funny looks I can tell you!

They seemed to be fine , will pop out later to check they head the right way again lol

I'll post pics when its dried out and i have the Aubiose down it just looks like a large expanse of mud at the moment when hubby took the roof panels off there was loads of water trapped on top so that flooded into the run too so could take a few days to dry out, but have the Aubiose ready

getting there, looks a bit boring and i think the girls think the same as they are still in their woodchipped extension lol but they have perches in there, hubby knows a tree surgeon and will get some branches off him soon but he fell on a branch and hurt himself so will have to wait

on the left at the end is the place for my bench i got for my birthday when hubby or i put it together so i can sit and watch under the budlea. hoping for more chickens this weekend

 

excuse the mess garden is still a swamp and i haven't had time to tidy up, thats this weekends job.

The run is looking great, I too have to find some branches and interesting items to go in the run for them.

I was walking through the woods this morning with the dog and eyeing up some rotting logs and chopped down branches .

Our chooks didn't even wait for their cube to be finished before they scuttled in to investigate....

 

 

and they've spent the night & laid in there ever since with no trouble at all - mind you their was hoiked off by a friend shortly after these pics were taken to house their new babies!!!

I'm waiting for the sun to come through, I imagine it will be quite blinding ! It was almost fluorescing in the box, but it's growing on me..................

You mean you had space in the boot after a Center Parcs break ?

 

Ours is usually stuffed to the gunnels with "essentials" Mind you, we haven't been since the days of buggies & baby tatt etc
