esta Posted February 23, 2009 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Hey I have had a batch of chickens given too me last year and little did i no i had 2 cockerals among them and i already have a bantam game cockeral. Should i get rid of them both to the local friend that has lots of land and may chickens, but they seem to get along but I dunt like the two sussex cockerals jumpuing on the battery hens and pulling their combs. The advice is that it isn't a good idea to have them with cockerels for at least a month as the cockerels treading them can break their bones until they have recovered. Also, you should have a fair number of hens to cockerels so that they aren't worn out by the attention. At least 8 per cockerel is what I have been given to understand.
