Old Speckled Hen
Our Morrisons is good for local free range chicken and they sell local legbar eggs as well as the usual brown ones and free range duck eggs. I have, on the odd occasion, spotted goose eggs for sale Asda is even better, having a whole cold counter supplied solely by one or two local farms. We also have a Booths chain up here which is like a Northern Waitrose and that sells a lot of local veg, bread and cheese as well meat. Blackrocksrock
I too have my own hens and they have laid all winter through but it is heartening to know that local free range eggs can be bought via the supermarket - I used to buy the Clarence court burford browns from tesco befoer I had my own hens but they dont stock them anymore. So saying = my own ones are much better!
