You naughty omleteers! Ive had to dredge out my icecream maker now after reading the thread on them! Now hubby has a yearning for baileys ice cream but ive lost the manual that came with it and so the basice recipe book. Do any of you have one ,or a favourite recipe please? Also I think some of them use raw eggs in them..how safe do you reckon it is,even though they come from our girls Im still a bit wary,although obviously small children and pregnant mums wouldnt be able to eat it(all the more for meeee!!)

Oh think its my fault for starting it!!!

 

I have made both types of recipe 1) cooking the egg first which I believe is making a custard base and 2) raw eggs, cream, vanilla, milk (from ben and jerrys book).

 

I will look in my ben and jerrys book as think there is an alcohol based ice cream in there.

 

Or I assume you could do a basic vanilla and instead of adding the full milk and cream you could omit and add baileys.

 

Soon as I get back will post on here (do you want cooked egg then?)

My base recipe uses raw egg, whisked until thick, with honey. It makes a lovely creamy ice-cream.

Lesley can you post the recipe for eggs and honey base for ice cream or any other additions you can use - sounds delicious.
