theherd123
Well said Em! You should have been there to knock them in to shape for me! I would given them my best 'teacher look'!
Lesley
Last year I took my Grandma on the Shakespeare Express on the last day of the Global Gathering. Clearly if I had known then I would have avoided Stratford like the plague... The station was heaving with scruff bags and not one of them would give up their seats / benches for my Grandma who had just had a knee replacement. As we walked out of the station to find a bench they were all lying all over the paths and creating an obstruction. I found the whole thing really selfish and annoying. We avoid Stratford like the Plague as well Dan - horrendous isn't it? (well, we avoid Stratford most of the time really ) Emma - we don't need to come thanks - we can hear it from here

The Dogmother
Told you it was LOUD Em. I don't so the whole weekend - not only because the campsite is minging, but also because it means that I have to use up some precious days off to recover so that I can get back to work Don't get me wrong - I lurve doing it, but the one day thing is enough for me - probably because I don't drink or do substances (these days )

The Dogmother
Book your tickets quickly Emma, I think they are still doing them at this year's rate, but they WILL go up for next year, plus the weekend ones almost always sell out. I usually leave it until I knopw what the weather will be doing before I get my day pass, but we'll have to plan a meet up nearer the time. theherd123
You can buy early bird tickets now i think, so just need to persuade OH that camping is great fun! He has never camped before but says he hates it - he was never a scout so missed the whole campfire & sleeping under the stars thing! Yes meeting up would be great! Rave our pants off!! Opps theres that pants word again!
The Dogmother
If he's never camped before then the site there might not be the best place to start.... it's VERY crowded, the facilities are VERY poor and there are all night bongos and people stumbling into your tent Worse than most festivals. Phil ended up resorting to weeing in a bottle and washing with bottled water by his car - it was that bad!!!
theherd123
Well if he can camp there he can camp anywhere! Just dont tell him how bad it is!!!
Lesley
I think I'll emigrate
The Dogmother
I'll be going if the weather is good and I can get Ian to have Rosie. But I will only go for the 24 hours ticket, not sure yet which day - depends on the line-up really.
theherd123
July this year was brilliant for festivals weather wise so lets hope it repeats next year! Im sure the line up will be great too!
The Dogmother
Fat Boy Slim and Judge Jules were on this year Judge Jules is playing at a local club next Friday - we have tickets to go. How happy am I? Just means that I will have to get in from work and go straight to bed for a snooze so that I'm not knackered

The Dogmother
I'm quite happy to admit to feeling old and tired sometimes. But with a good sleep behind me I can rave for England! You'll love people watching there - some of the sights.....
Hellcat
My children are 1, 3.5 and 7.5. My 1 year old is in a car seat, my 3.5 year old is on a booster with a back on it, which leaves my 7.5 year old. My car cannot take three seats across the back I must admit that seeing children not belted up in a car drives me mad Don't know if this has been answered further up the thread, but we had the same problem. The law states that the seats MUST be used apart from if you already have two c"Ooops, word censored!"ats on the back seat, in which case the third child can sit wothout a c"Ooops, word censored!"at as long as they have a 3 point harness. OH assured me this was the case when I went in to a panic about changing the car AGAIN!! So put the 7.5 yr old on a seat with a should er seat belt and you should be fine. If, however, you are travelling with them but not one of the other children, the same rules apply. Apparently it also excludes short unexpected journeys.....? Guest
And the child without a booster must sit in the middle.
Lesley
It's a minefield isn't it? Probably yet another way to raise money in fines from us all Luckily, Lauren is happy to sit in her booster seat so I won't have the worry of her being 'overheight but underage'
Mel (& Paul)
It's a minefield isn't it? Probably yet another way to raise money in fines from us all I'm with you there Lesley. I still get SO mad at all the drivers out there STILL using their mobiles - it seems to be: Lorry drivers BMW drivers Yummy mummys in their 4 x 4s I have a hands free kit but will only take a call if I know who is ringing and that it is going to be an easy short conversation. Otherwise I let my answerphone take it and ring them back later. As my mobile is a work phone I have never developed that "love" of the phone and find it hard to understand people that cant go 10 minutes without the mobile
Lesley
My mobile stays in my handbag - turned off - I have it for emergencies only and would turn it on if I needed to. My whole family go at me. Perhaps it's because I can remember a time before phones, let alone mobiles. It's nice to be away from phones sometimes. Louise
I can go months without a call on my mobile I do use it for text messages though I have to have it switched on as sometimes work call me on it
Lesley
I did wonder why no-one was answering their phone once when I was in Matalan. It rang about 4 times. Then I had a tap on my shoulder - it was my son telling me it's not much use turning my phone on if I don't answer it I didn't even know what my ringtone sounded like
