.....remember when Johannes posted asking if anyone wanted to work at the Ideal Home Exhibition? Well I put my hand up, and I've come home form the school run today to find an e mail saying yes I CAN help!! Wee Hee!! How exciting!!

That's made me smile, I'm really looking forward to talking chickens ALL day long and not getting :roll: from everyone!! :lol:

 

Anyone else helping at any of the shows?

I'm doing three :oops: Sunday 29th March, Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th of April, I gave the three dates as options and they said yes to all three! :D Just have to instruct the ex what hours he will be having the children and I'm sorted!

That's a shame - :( I was hoping to meet up with you. I am on 24th and 31st March. really looking forward to it :D I think that the comfy shoes tip is a good one though!

I got my email and I'd given some Saturday dates I could do, no Sundays as I was supposed to be pole dancing BUT yesterday they said the class had already booked out - and I hadn't put my name down :evil:

 

I've been offered Sat 4th BUT I thought Mum went on holiday on Sunday 5th and it turns out she goes on friday 3rd!!!! I can't ask my ex to take James as he would like as not phone me up 10 mins before I leave to say "sorry busy now". My regular babysitters work Saturdays.....So I think I'm going to miss out :cry::cry:

:( Oh dear! maybe they just haven't done all the emails yet. Can't believe that you wouldn't get one at all, even if they didn't need you surely they would acknowledge your offer.

I would venture to guess that weekdays might have been less popular and so have been offered first? And then perhaps those quickest off the mark have already heard about weekends? My son also volunteered for school holiday times and has already been told they cannot use him this time. I am sure everyone will be acknowledged sometime..

Hubby and I are doing Ideal Home on 11 and 12 April.

 

I do these shows for a living so this'll be a bit of a busman's holiday. BUT it'll be such a novelty to talk about something that actually interests me for a change :D

 

I can only reiterate the bit about comfy shoes and would recommend throat sweets if you are not used to talking all day. Also don't bring too much stuff with you, especially valuables - at every show I've ever done, things have grown legs and walked away from stands. There will be a secure cloakroom but there will also be the longest queue you've ever seen to retrieve your stuff.

OH and myself will be there on the 29th - I think with BeckyBoo...? I look forward to meeting you Becky ...and all omletteers who visit on that day.

 

and thanks Lydia for the advice... (I'll be the one wearing lilac crocs) - I've got two young boys so I'm pretty used to talking all day... now that'll be a change actually, normally I SHOUT all day! :oops:

 

On another note... is my eyesight getting weird or have some of the smilies become a bit egg-shaped? :shock:

No you're not going mad, they changed when they upgraded the website or whatever it was they did.

I'll look forward to meeting you Ana, I followed your advice re what to do when you're sooooo angry, didn't make a doll or anything and hadn't really got anything that belonged to the ex-SIL but I did have a card she had written to me, so that went outside along with all my bad feelings. It's still out there now, the writing is fading and blurring as it gets dew on it then dries out and I like watching it fade a little more every day. Pretty soon I will bury it and although I've not wished anything nasty on it it's felt a whole load better sort of focusing all my negativity onto it. Much better than getting SO angry and using all that energy in a bad way, what a waste of my time and effort, this is calming and I'm much more chilled about the whole thing. Now I sound like a tree hugger!!! Tha's because I AM one! :lol::lol:
