We passed the 1000th egg mark yesterday, Ruby the Columbine laid it. Everytime I collect an egg I am still amazed by it, chickens are wonderful.

I shall carry on counting.

lOTS have gone to neighbours and friends etc. e have a running tally on the calender, I think I will stop counting when we get to a year in August.

have been counting and weighing mine but only started . nineteen up to now. don't know if will keep up to 1000 though. that takes some dedication

Ours are marked on a calendar and logged on the computer on a spread sheet mainly for OH's benefit because he likes to see how cost effective they are. At the moment we are only up to a total of 248 - but we are now down to a brill cost of 94p per egg!

I mark ours on the calendar and then record them on the computer, we have got to 824, looking forward to the 1000th egg

Been away for a few days so I only saw this news today

 

While we were away we asked the neighbours to keep a tally of any eggs (which they were quiet entitled to keep for looking after the chooks) so that we could keep our spread sheet going.

 

Up to now we have had 846 from our 4 chooks in just under a year. The trend shows that each month the egg count and size is still increasing, but April will have to go some to beat the 110 we had in March.

 

Well done to the girls, they still seem to be bouncing with health at the moment with no sign of slowing down as our neighbour informed us that she collected a total of 15 eggs during the 4 days that we were away !

ha ha ha! Know what you mean, at the moment our eggs I call "golden eggs" because they have cost us so much!
