chooklady
I desperately need a new iron. I want a good one that is going to make my ironing easier as I hate doing it and the one I have is old and doesn't work very well. I have been ironing today since 11.30 am and have just finished so I thought I deserved a sit down with a sandwich and a cup of tea and the omlet forum. Does anyone have an iron they could recommend? Many thanks Nicola
BarbaraJ
no sorry but am after a good one myself (not too expensive) as ours spits yucky water at our clothes at unfortunate moments!!!

craftyhunnypie
I have a darn good one from Aldi, it's a steam generator one with one of those large water tanks. They cut ironing time in half. Argos do some good ones too. My mum has one from Argos & dad did a bit of ironing the other day & loved the iron. Bless him! Emma.x
bluekarin
This will be my next one Tefal FV5260 as according to Which? who I subscribed to for a short while it was a very good one. However, if someone has this and has problems with it please let me know. I have gone through so many irons, I am considering getting an old fashioned one and just spraying the clothes with water. Old Speckled Hen
There was a thread here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=40310&hilit=steam+generator that was very useful
Egluntyne
Whatever brand you go for, get a steam generator type iron. Thet do the job in half the time and twice as well.
chooklady
Thankyou, I'd almost forgotten I'd posted this. I will have a look at the steam generator type.
