cathf
Hi I'm new to chicken keeping. We've had our 2 chickens for about 3 weeks. Poppy, a Speckledy, is fine and has been laying for just over a week. Daisy, a Nera, has had the sneezes for the last 2 weeks and has not started laying. She seems fine apart from this ie eating, drinking, lively etc. Can anyone give me some advice? Many thanks
theherd123
Firstly it would be wise to inform the person/company you bought the chooks from of this problem. You can add some Citricidal to the water as this helps with the sneezes. Keep your eye on her and make sure she still continues to eat and drink well. Keep us posted as to how she is
The Dogmother
Be sure to check on her chest in case she gets a chest infection; put your ear to her back, if the sound isn't the normal bunged up nose type of cold sound, but a wheezing or bubbling in the chest, then she will need to go to the vet for antibiotics. Please do tell the supplier; if they need to go to the vet then they should foot the bill for you at the very least.
cathf
Thanks for the replies. I've emailed the supplier who is an Omlet recommended supplier. He was very helpful when we collected them so hopefully he still will be! I'm ordering some Citricidol now and hubby and I are about to listen to her although we've got to try and quietly catch her as she's free ranging at the moment! Thanks for the advice.
