FlyingRamses
Hello,I noticed that one of my Bantams seems to have a nose bleed, there were spots of blood in the hen house and quite a lot on her nose. Could see no signs of pecking wounds on back or vent so seems to be bleeding from the nose. Does anyone now what action I should take if any? She was looking quite sorry for heerself but I had to rush off to work. I will get her in tonight and check her over but will worry all day! I bought her from a breeder at the weekend. Any thoughts much appreciated thanks.
The Dogmother
I've never heard of that, but would advise isolating her until you've found the cause. Did you introduce them gradually using seperate housing? If you didn't then she could well be suffering from an injury and I'd have a look at her comb if I were you - they bleed like mad if they get so much as a nick. If theer is even an inkling that it might be something infectious, then you need to get straight onto the supplier you bought her from. Egluntyne
Could she have knocked herself of the feeder or drinker?
FlyingRamses
Thanks for those thoughts. Hopefully it is just an injury rather than anything more serious like an infection, I will check her over carefully tonight. They all came together into our coop so did not isolate as they were together anyway at the breeders, have kept them away from the big hens though until we have introduced them over the coming weeks!! Will let you know later how I get on with her and how she is looking, if in doubt I will get her to the vet. Thanks again.
