BeckyBoo
Well, it had to be done. Having been recommended Lush henna (the Omlet effect ) and having "cautiously" applied a mix of red and brown it just wasn't red enough. I've been meaning to put the rest of the red on for a while but the thing that galvanised me into action was the e mail from Johannes saying I needed a passport sized photo for my Earls Court pass this weekend. You can see my grey!! So vanity prevailed and I am now sitting here waiting to see just how red is red. (looked pretty red when I rinsed it off ) Put it like this, if the sun shines, I'm hoping everyone will need sun-glasses just to speak to me! My mate Laney (Karen) is a dreadful one for the sun. She's jetting off for Tenerife for a month. She's already as brown as brown from sun-beds. I've told her straight, 'You carry on as you are Laney and before long, at best you'll look like a Versace leather hand-bag, at worst, Dona Versace.' I might as well save my breath with her
BeckyBoo
Well because I'm a "fake" red head I don't have pale skin so (luckily) don't burn in the sun. But oh boy, is my hair red now! And it always carries on developing for a day or two!!Happy Happy me! BeckyBoo

And what was the matter with good ol L'Oreal?..... if it's good enough for Davina, it's good enough for you. You be careful mate. You don't want to end up Pillar box red, going to the local shops for twenty ciggies and a paper and people starting to shove letters down your throat! Seriously, i'm sure it looks great. Have fun xx

Ana's flock
LOL I've also tried to do red for the Earls Court event tomorrow but it has gone dark brown with red highlights- I wanted it all redder and more coppery but it's turning out a bit too 'sophisticated' and conservative for my taste... I think I'm going more copper/red next time... ...and I'm looking forward to tomorrow! Mind you, I hate having my photo taken almost as much as having an injection... but I'm going to have a look and see if I've got something I can use for the pass... we had some pics taken recently for the office (although I was blond and had my hair straightened then...) Becky you're going to look a million dollars - can't wait to see the hair for real tomorrow... I wonder how many Omleteers will come to visit... BeckyBoo
Oooh, Ana's flock, are you working it too? Or are you just visiting the event anyway? If you're working it should be fun, I don't know how many they have working on the stand - I'm more excited about it than I think I ought to be I think I need to get out a bit more!! Cinnamon
Zandras was hot pink actually, as mine has been in the past Good on her! Personally I don't think that it has to be a natural colour to look amazing- my opinion only I would love a bit of pink or blue in mine again
Guest
You're right, it was pink! I agree, doesn't have to be a natural colour to look fab. There's a relative of mine, Jan, i always have called her aunty Jan, but she's not, only a distant relative by marriage, but aunty Jan nonetheless She recently fancied a change of colour and went red. She looks fab. Knocked years off her. It really suits her. Wonder how they are getting on at the show? Can't wait to see the pics.
Guest
Mind you Cinn i'm always wary of older women who have the urge to put pink and blue in their hair, but i think it has some psychological past? We had a clinical team leader, nasty woman, back stabbing old witch, who would come to work with pinks and blues in her hair, and this ridiculous looking electric blue mascara. One of my colleagues said 'She's looks like a mad woman' As it turned out it she probably was, but she didn't last long though, thank God She was evil. Made the mistake of crossing my path one day though. The office just cleared in seconds! One of those types who never stays in a job long, but leave a trail of destruction in her wake. Claiming all sorts of qualifications, but no application whatsoever, and thinking they're intelligent. How these people manage to get to such positions i will never know. I personally thought she was a Narcissist. Was glad to see the back of her. Edited March 28, 2009 by Guest
Guest
It was also a consensus of opinion that she was in need of a humour transplant too, stupid woman. But unfortunately, they don't seem to supply those on the NHS?

Guest
I forgot to say. One of the things that got up her staffs' noses was her pretenciousness. However, she was a deeply insecure individual. Poor woman. We pitied that aspect, ie because of her insecurity, but didn't forgive or forget anything else she did, such things as trying to be-little people; but was foolish enough to think most people couldn't 'see through her' and that people on the whole really were not as impressed by how pathetic she really was, on the whole. But that's life. And i've met plenty of her type since Unfortunately. Give some people a little bit of power, and it seems to go to their heads. They become s"Ooops, word censored!"bish and patronising. Sad to see really. They seem to forget that in the scheme of things, they are a very small fish in a very large pond, and as said, people really are not that impressed. Perhaps i should go on the 'Rant' page for this, but classless s"Ooops, word censored!"s really get up my nostril, because that is all they are. And all the pretenciousness in the world, doesn't buy class at the end of the day, or as said..... impress people. Least of all, myself x
