I've never been brave enough to hatch myself. The babies came from the lorry crash in Essex.

The babies were 4 weeks old when we picked them up. They were sexed quite accurately really - only one cockerel out of 19 chicks.

The babies are starting to lay now so we are getting a steady amount.

 

Dad was very happy with his basket of eggs that he took away with him today.

My broody girl snapped put of it after three days in a borrowed dog crate. I can see that borrowing 5 might be a tad tricky.

I have one in the rablu run with the door to the rablu closed. I have one in the eglu run with the door closed and two bantams not very happy but together in a run that I've built. The fifth one will have to remain broody until a space is available.
