What are the pros and cons in the two types of roosting bars from the original wood to the new plastic ones?

The plastic ones take a lot less time to clean and can be dried immediately so no need for a spare set.

 

I do wonder though if the wooden ones are more comfy one the girlies feet as they are more 'natural' and less slippy.

I understand the wood one can deteriorate in time but guess the plastic ones would if you left them out in hot sun.

That is the main reason I have never swapped over. I also think they are a tad expensive for what they are.

I'm sure someone left their plastic ones out in full sun and they twisted out of shape . I like mine, I have to say, so easy to clean .

Easier to clean, but I never had a big issue with wooden ones. I bought plastic for my Eglu more to show people at hen parties than to use - I didn't actually use them for 3 months.

 

The girls do not seem fussed either way.

I prefer the plastic bars. they are so easy to keep clean. The poos do not seem to stick on them like they do on the wooden bars. The wooden bars in my mark 1 Eglu always seem to be pooey and takes ages to get clean and dry.

 

I wish Omlet would make plastic bars for the mark 1 Eglu maybe a special limited amount. I am sure there would be takers.

Indeed, I'd have two straightaway!

HJowever, I suspect tooling up production runs needs thousands, not just 3 or so. Would love it though, I much prefer the plastic ones, not a phrase I use often.
