Yes!!! We have Ikea units in the kitchen and utility and they went together so easily without any cursing! I'd definitely recommend them. I love mine .

I love mine. Love. If I move, I'm going to buy the same kitchen again and fit it in. One of my pals has it in her flat that she bought six years ago, and it still looks lovely and new (which is why I fitted it).

The only thing I'd say, and this is purely our experience!, is too order it at least a couple of months before you plan to fit the kitchen as our kitchen was delivered over a period of around 3 months in dribs and drabs. However, that was a few years ago no so I'm sure they've probably got their act together!

 

We didn't get the applicances from Ikea as we could buy better and for less over the internet.

I picked all of mine up myself, with the only slight problem being that the Ikea I originally went to didn't have the worktops I wanted, so I had to nip round the M25 to Edmonton to get them. But they seem to have everything in stock as a matter of course. All of the cabinets are standard and it's just the doors and coverpanels which are different.

I had one in the last house, and I loved it. One word of warning, however - I ordered Ikea cabinets, and worktop from another supplier.

 

They may have changed the design, but then (about seven years ago) whereas most cupboards come with a space for wiring etc at the back, the Ikea cupboards were solid boxes. They are designed to go with Ikea worktop, which provides an overhang. My worktop was an exact fit - there was no space for pipes to run behind them.

 

My lovely, patient next-door neighbour who was fitting the kitchen for me had to jigsaw 3/4 inch off each cupboard and rebuild them (luckily he was a skilled carpenter). I absolutely loved the kitchen though, and I'd buy another one from them, although I agree with the point above about ordering - I had to make a couple of trips to get all the bits.

My brother put an Ikea kitchen into his house and was delighted with it. He was helped by a friend who was a professional kitchen fitter - he said the only thing to bear in mind is that the Ikea carcasses go right back to the wall, others have a gap behind them. This is fine until you get to either a very uneven wall or somewhere with pipes behind it.

 

My bro had the beech worktop (lovely) and put the units on legs rather than have plinths so the whole floor was tiled and he could clean underneath the units (mind you, he is a bit of an obsessive cleaner - I like my plinths, whatever is behind them can stay there!)

Yes, I have an Ikea kitchen, DH who is a handy man put it all together, with very little cursing and swearing It's about 8 years old now and the beech worktops could do with being sanded and oiled, but it's lasted well, and still looks good. I like that you can choose your own style of handles.

i have a freestanding JL / m&s kitchen, which is a bit of a mis match (but looks trendy). i have recently added to it using ikea. the quality is far better than expected, and very cheap for me after putting together the first couple of units, it took only 10 mins for each of the units to do, they are very sturdy - i will add a photo (if it works) the ikea ones are the top units.

that's exactly what we did. I put an ikea kitchen in my last house and put another one in this house. Fabulous quality cabinets, hinges and clever bits and pieces to fit in them.
