miffy
just got soaked, its been pouring with rain for hours with no let up. I had been waiting for a lull before I shut the girls in but no lull so off I went, shut them in, bought the food and pecka blocks in then had to go up the top of the garden to shut the polytunnel up. From the top I could see the mist all around, dusky light all around, the apple and pear trees blossom heavy on the branches and I just thought......what a wonderful world...its so beautiful I just stood and enjoyed the moment...and got soaked... Redwing
There is nothing better than looking at the outside world! Earlier this week I had a puncture in one of my tyres and had to drive on it for two days, not allowed to go over 50mph I drove the 65 mile round trip to work on A roads, its amazing how much you see when you are not whizzing down a motorway, it put me in a really good mood for a couple of days! miffy
I know what you mean Redwing, folk fly along never seeing whats around them, if only they could slow down the world would be a better place for them and everyone else
BeckyBoo
That feeling when you suddenly stop and take a breath and really see what's around you is just amazing, makes you feel alive, and glad to be so. Last time I had it was walking the dog last Friday, it was misty and a bit murky so the fields weren't full of dog walkers, I'd had a really busy two days with loads of children around which was great fun, but then just for an hour or so I was child free whilst they were at a party. Just me and the dog, all the sound was muffled, I made the effort not to take the path the whole time but to push through branches and brush past the bushes, I reckon raindrops knocked from leaves onto your nose are better for your inner beauty than any amount of Oil of Olay . I filled my lungs with damp air, my arms were chilly as I made myself take my jumper off even though it was cool, we tramped along smelling the blackthorn, the bluebells and the damp air and that's when I felt good to be alive The full moon somewhere where there's no street lights, or by the sea, that gets me going too BeckyBoo
Olly
One of the (many) reasons I love having chickens is that I now see so much more in the garden. Pre-chicken I would barely have gone out there between October and March, but now of course I see every new bulb emerging in the spring and notice the changes every day. I'd say that the time I spend out there in winter is just as enjoyable - nothing like seeing the garden in frost, and spotting the wild birds. Tiggy
I love early mornings once the days get longer, I sit on my steps watching the chickens and talking to the cats with a cuppa before I go to work its lovely

Chook n Boo Mum
DH took a batch of photos of the children when they were tiny in the bluebell woods near here - oh so gorgeous! Some of them are in huge frames behind the computer where I am sitting. DD is about 3-4 in the pics, so very cute & cheeky with little round cheeks & lots of dimples and blonde hair with kinks & ringlets.......thoroughly adorable ! bluekarin
I love bluebells. When I was about 7 we lived near to a woods which had carpets of them and I loved walking through them all. In fact, I think after the citys St Georges day celebration tomorrow, I think we will go back there.
