kerrie
I've bought red mite powder for the first time-how do I use it best? Do I put it on the girls? If so what is the best way to do this? Do I put it in the eglu? Any advice appreciated. thanks Kerrie

mad house
We sprinkle ours around the roosting bars, over the nesting material and put some where they dust. Hope that helps
craftyhunnypie
We do the nesting boxes, the roosting bars, under where they rest on the eglu edges, any nooks & crannies, some in the poo trays - some on the nesting material, a light dusting round the egg port doors & egg port ledge - almost everywhere. Hence touch wood - never had red mite. We also give the girls a dusting occassionally. We are a bit obsessed with the stuff & get through it far too quickly. At least our chooks are safe & healthy & all but one laying, even though 3 are over 2 years old. Must be doing something right. Lewis
I use it in the corners of the roosting bar, and in with the woodshaving of the nest box. I'm not sure if you use it in the birds, but if you're going to, I'd hold them upside down by their legs, and put it on them that way. Redwing
I have some in an old washing up liquid bottle that I use to puff the gaps, I also use an old paintbrush to 'rub' it along joints and then finish up with a blooming good sprinkling all over the inside of the house
