Sourcing WIR materials online?

Recommended Posts

I'm just trying to get some ideas for costs from online retailers for our WIR.

I looked at a link for weldmesh earlier in the week on here, now I can't find it. Can anyone else recommend a company please?

Secondly, I'm trying to find a price for corrugated perspex roofing stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction? (B&Q isn't bringing any back?)

Thank you all so much for my silly requests, you're all very patient

Glad you liked the eggs

We got the corrugated roof sheets from B&Q and they were:

180cm x 66cm = £5.18

300cm x 66cm = £8.30

The bit that hikes the price of the roof up is the screw things...I think they were nearly three pound for ten. Although FIL was able to use his OAP discount

We got a lot of bits from B&Q like the door latch and hinges but the wood that we needed worked out MUCH cheaper from Gibbs and Dandy in St Neots. There is one in Kettering too! (I know this as my mate works there)

Yep I agree Hills of Devon for the mesh and Wickes for the roof panels. They're also really reasonably priced for timber if you haven't got a timber yard near you.

If you're going for sawn treated timber, these are very good too and they offer free delivery if you order above a certain amount (100m - which sounds a lot but it does get used up quick!):

The screws with the little, erm, hats, for attaching the corrugated roof are quite expensive at Wickes but if you have a Tool Station near you, they do them much cheaper for packs of 50 (£3). Plus hinges and other fixing are reasonably priced there too. Free delivery if you spend more than £10.

same as above regarding the mesh and roofing. We found B & Q the cheapest for the met posts for putting the wood into the ground though. Our local timber yard was best for the wood, and we would highly recommend borrowing / buying an electric staple gun - makes it all so much quicker!
