Dame Egna, and Julia 55 - if it helps you I am happy to pick up your hens and bring them down to a suitable location to do a handover.

 

I have a mini with free petrol and whilst I am not sure I can home any hens (still working on this one), this helps me make sure that people who can, can get them and makes me feel as though I am doing something.

 

So, that's 8 that could be booked - I am not sure how many you can get in a mini, but if anyone in Devon/ South West area wants to use me as a hen chauffeur service on 23rd May please PM me.

Suzy that would be great thank you and I could then travel someway towards Devon for Dame Egna and hand hers over. I am still trying to organise a loan of an ark but I can adapt if necessary. Someone has offered me a rabbit hutch which would do as a makeshift coop and I could enclose it in some netting for their run until my 3 start behaving!! . Anything is better than the conditions they are currently living in.

I will pm you Suzy. I have emailed Little Hen rescue but haven't heard anything, I expect they are rather busy at present!

Julia55 - I think anything, make shift or otherwise will feel like a 5 star hotel compared to their current 'accomodation'. We - er, I mean, hubby will have to knock something together as a coop, I have a rabbit run so it's just a safe, warm coop they need until they are happy enough to live with my others.

Please be patient with Littlehen. This morning there were 136 emails to answer.

There are new coordinators popping up, none if us had any experience of it before \7 have only just got us sorted.

I personally have been asked if we can collect 100 every weekend until June 23 for Surrey, so they are coming out.

I have spoken with someone who has been in the sheds and she told the girls we were coming back for them all, so they are sitting there waiting to be loved. :)

Poo and pants, I thought the rescue was going to be 29th June, was going to offer to come to Norfolk with you - can't do 23rd May as I'm working. I've got a home for 4 though - someone at work has two chooks left in his mini-flock and wants to expand again so thats good news!

I'll see if I can home some with my next door neighbours who have plenty land and keep eyeing mine up. They also used to have chooks years ago and constantly talk of having more

 

I'm close to Norwich BUT will be away for a few days end of June. I'll check Carrie could chicken-sit if needed

 

I've got an empty stable (12ft x 12ft) with rubber matting floor and some empty rabbit hutches I could put in it as temporary housing..... - so could probably house a couple of dozen if anyone wanted to use my place as a pick up point ?

 

I'll need clearance with my oh first.

 

I'd be happy to help out on site - but don't know I could do much as have a young baby.

I def. can take four as I have an empty house just crying out for new chooks.

 

Some one in Reigate posted on freecycle about getting loads of ex-bats from Norwich for re-homing so I assume these are the LHR birds. Should I register with her or direct with LHR - have e-mailed this lady but no reply yet.

 

If I go to Reigate I can collect my Sister en-route (who's been saying for years she wants chooks) and her friend who has two already but wants a few more :D .

I haven't heard from them either, although I am sure they have had loads of emails from people - they must be overrun with them! Do you think they would prefer to home in the surrounding areas rather than send them all over the country? Were in Devon, which is a long way from Norwich - I just wondered if that was putting them off.

We only have 7 on our list!!!!!! I CAN confirm that 100 hens WILL be coming to Wokjing on 23rd JUne., which is good for some of you.

Any Surrey colections that HAVE registered can email me & Linda ar littlehensurrey@yahoo.co.uk

No firm yomes for collecting maybe 3 earliest, probably 4 onwards may need stahhering, will let you have details when we do.

Frustrating as hell for us too, as it is al so unknown!

I could help and am registered with LHR (before I realised that they are Norfolk). Any chance of a chicken train in the Manchester direction? Failing that I am in Stamford on Sat 30th May at a 50th party so could collect on Sunday maybe? Pm me if I can be of help. Could probably take 3 or 4.

oh yes, see your name now. Also have asked organisers about you Devon ladies. Some parts not so far from us as we are from Norfolk, am asking about a lay over (ha!) maybe overnight or weekend. but prob not 1st weekend, they will want to sort the easier bits out 1st I expect with all the new cordinators needing ,ost guidance right now!

to be slightly clearer. 23rd Woking Surrey also other places,

Some are saturdays some are Sundays, this will NOT be the last weekend BHWT are going in also. Not sure if 10,000 is total or total of Littlhen now. should think thats total total, will ask.
