seraphine
http://www.flickr.com/photos/22781593@N03/ If any of you have the time (or inclination ), would you mind taking a look at the pics above and seeing if we've forgotten anything/if there's anything in our garden we should consider or that could cause a problem, and anything else you might want to tell me! There's also a large patio area out of shot which has a table and chairs, plus some raised beds with veg and a herb garden - these will all be covered with chicken wire, natch! The area for the Eglu and run to go on is filled with bark, as I understand it bark isn't the best so we'll s"Ooops, word censored!"e it out of the actual run and fill that with wood chippings/aubiose. Getting excited now - only 22 sleeps to go
Hen Watch
Looks good to me. My chickens love scratching around under trees and bushes and I can see you've got tree cover which they will enjoy. And the tree will give shade in high summer which they will like. Start the countdown 22, 21.......
seraphine
Thanks for looking Henwatch. Do you think the area where the Eglu and run will be sited is too dark? They will be in there 60% of the time I would say...We have ordered a run converter to add an extra metre.
Redwing
They are better off in the shade so I wouldn't worry about it being dark Looks very good to me

On really hot days I feel better knowing they are shaded. I have a run coverter too on my eglu and it is useful.

Plum
Looking good. I wouldn't waste the bark just change it when its soiled if it goes slimy. That's a great area for them.

Indie - yes it is indeed a slide and cosy coupe you can see! The slide comes off the side of Bella's house - never gets used mind The cosy coupe is a big hit with the littlest one, I'm sure the chickens will have a rare old time playing with all the toys as well! Lewis
Looks good My moms cousin (he's about 2) came round a few weeks ago and loved the chickens. He was running around after then, picking them up for 'loves' and everything. The chickens didn't take any notice
