Chook n Boo Mum
Well here they are my cheeky little batties, absolutely gorgeous, still a bit patchy on the feather front & very skittish, but full of character and fairly reliable layers - if they are bit odd in the shape & texture of the shell ! They are Peanut on the left, Hazel in the middle then Lily turning away a bit and Buttercup is the paler brown chook to the right and Bluebell disappearing out of the front of the frame! Peanut is almost fully feathered and although she is a fair bit darker than Buttercup, they are very easy to get muddled if you don't look closely! Lily (pink leg ring) has a patch of feathers missing on her right(?) shoulder and Hazel (blue leg ring) has a patch missing at the base of her tail although they are slowly filling in the gaps. The batties have all decided that my toes are very slug/worm-like.... Peanut had just taken a peck at my squidged up toes....ouch This is how the batties started out their life with us.... What a difference a couple of months and bucket loads of love and attention can make. Tulip is much missed and spoken of often. Sometimes when I'm counting the chooks into the run, I still look for the missing little one Sha x
