I bought a couple of bags of raw cashews as was going to make some dairy/soya/egg free ice-cream for my daughter (recipe I found - she has allergies).

 

Anyway, she decided she doesnt like icecream!

 

What can i do with the cashews?

 

Made some fridge cake yesterday using hazelnuts - cashews are softer so would they be nice in it or not.

 

Bring on recipes and ideas please.

I do a rice salad with put chashews/peanuts in it... rather tasty

Roasted with salt as a yummy evening snack... Simple but very moorish!

 

Or roasted and sprinkled with chillie powder...

 

Or roasted with a bit of honey... Hmmm know what I'm having later!

Spiced nuts? Add a small amount of oil to a frying pan and heat a teaspoon of cumin and half a teaspoon of chilli powder. Add the nuts and turn down the heat. Coat in the oil and spices, then transfer to a shallow dish and roast for 20 mins or so until the nuts are brown. Allow to cool and store in an airtight jar. Dad always gets these in his hamper!

I toast them and put them in a storage jar for curry and chinese recipes but in reality they're eaten before they make it into food!

As others have said toasted and used in stir fries or for a snack, they are lovely.

How long will they last toasted with those spices then in a jar and sealed?
