Ain't Nobody Here
Hello Jenniewren and welcome to the forum . Good luck for tomorrow . You're supposed to keep them in their run for 5 days or so (not the eglu/coop ) so they imprint it and know where home is when they eventually freerange . Not everyone lasts the full 5 days . quickcluck
When are they coming??? Some people say to put them in the house for half an hour give or take. I just put mine in the run and they find their way to bed You will never look back!

Jennyhenny
When Mr. Omlet bought mine they were just left in the run for 5 days so they knew where their new home was , they weren't locked in the eglu at all and a little encouragement the first couple of nights and they went to bed nicely. Enjoy your girls Jennyhenny
Space Chick
How exciting! We'll want pictures! When I brought mine home, I put them straight in the run, and with some encouragement with a torch through the house, they found the way to bed. The second night they did it all by themselves (clever girls!). I left them in the run for 5 days before letting them free-range, and it means they do know where is safe. I also have a dog, a terrier cross breed. He barked like a lunatic for the first few days, however, we tried some water squirting techniques and now he's fine and isn't bothered by them at all (although I still keep him on a lead when the girls are free-ranging, as I don't trust him with them yet, but it has only been a few weeks) Hope today goes well for you, I can't wait to hear about your girls. smithy36
Welcome to the land of chickens.... you will be addicted very soon! I went to get 3 came home with 5 added one, and then got 2 babies... and its only been 2 months! We left them in the coop for 1/2 hour and then in the run for 2 days. We only have a small garden so i dont think that they needed any longer. I also only let them out an hour before dusk, so that they just had a short time and i did not have to try and chase them back into the run! They just trotted in to bed when it started to go dark. Cant resisit - keep looking at others that I would like...if only I had more space! Did you get yours from Jude at Cotswold Chickens? That is where we got our first 5 - my 4 year old really wanted a "little ballerina" white star! Enjoy - they are VERY entertaining.
