*mummy_hen* Posted May 9, 2009 Share Posted May 9, 2009 Some of you may remember my panic post from early last week when i got in a complete state about my girls going 'on holiday' to my mums whilst we were away. I was a nightmare, i didn't want to leave them, i was worried they may think they were going back to the horrible place they came from...it was an emotional morning. Anyway, eventually popped them in the car, two in a cat basket, two in a dog crate, they all lay down and were silent....i wasn't sure whether this was a good thing or not. Had cooked some spaghetti to take with me to make their new run more appealing....although hardly needed it, they went straight in and started exploring They all loved the eglu too....it is a lot smaller house space than they are used to but they all took themselves in each night and cuddled up (my mum checked the egg port each night) and Henrietta even spent a lot of time just pecking about in there in the day!! They freeranged every day....although Florence managed to somehow find her way in to my mums flock and started throwing her weight around a little but no damage was done and they just had to be completely seperated and not just on seperate sides of the omlet netting. My mum found it a lot easier having them there and not having to drive to mine twice a day, my sister fell in love with the girls so they had lots of attention and treats too. Sorry for the ramble, was just so thrilled everything went smoothly. We had a much better holiday as well knowing that everyone was happy and the girls weren't lonely.
