Martin B
? I've never heard of that. On the way to Villa vs Charlton last month, we (Uncle and I) were driving through Aston Are you the less well known act, Martin and HalfUncle?? Phil That was a good joke earlier! No it was just me and my uncle paul. He is a Liverpool fan but has been a Nottingham Forest season ticket holder, and now a Villa one. He has a season ticket for the closest team to him! Paul and I are going to watch Villa vs Liverpool at Anfield on 28th October. Should be another 3 points.
Martin B
I just though I'd mention that I'm actually related to Bill Shankly. He's my great cousin. My great auntie has a large collection of letters that he sent to her, she's sold some at charity auctions for £250-£350. Recently Sean (Liverpool Fan) inherited a letter from her with Bills signature on the bottom. It's not an important letter just really cool that we have it in our household. Will upload a picture when my scanner works or I get a new Digital Camera for my birthday!

Martin B
He's actually a nice man. At Villa Park I sit quite near to both the dugouts and players tuinnel so autographs are quite easy to get. Question to Dan: Are you going to WBA vs Wolves at the Hawthawns?
Martin B
I've got Villa tomorrow, I'm a season ticket holder and I go to a few away matches, and Derby County matches. I'm waiting for the WBA vs Wolves tickets to go on general sale and then I'm going to try and get one.
Martin B
Not bothered in the slightest, I just love watching football. Go to all sorts of random matches!

Guest
P PSHow sad is it when a club's supporters have unrequited hatred for a neighbour? spot on Dan!! unrequited local rivalries.. We've got loads (the North-West being such a dense hotbed of league football) Wigan and Bury in particular are desperate to be our deadly rivals - but, I'm afraid, most Bolton supporters look upon them in a patronisingly paternal manner - which irritates the **%&!! out of them (which is why we do it!) ManU are an obvious local rival the other way around - we hate them - but they look down on us much like we do to Wigan & Bury.. Man Citeh - good proper local rivals - but our real, properly requited hatreds are with Burnley and Blackburn... (OK - we hate Wolves and Tranmere too. ) for a brief spell last year Boro were desperate to be our arch enemies - but it never really took off - similarly Portsmouth, for some reason best known to themselves... you've gotta loathe Mr Twitchy though, don't you?? we are hated by some managers - but not so much their fans - we are loathed by Professor Yaffle ("Ooops, word censored!"ne Wenger) - he can't understand why we don't just sit back and let them pass it around and score.. it wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that we keep beating them we are loathed by the fat waiter (Rafa Benitez) - for exactly the same reason we were loathed by Sourpuss - but since Newcastle sacked him, he's gone very quiet... Phil Oi, I come from Bury.... my home town.... and I spent far too much time in my adolesence shivering on the terraces at Gigg Lane to impress the boyfriend at the time..... and then going to school on the other side of the main road Monday -Friday Morally I do support Bury a bit, but they're not very good really , so as a long distance suporter my allegiances sort of swap, either to Bolton or Man City.... never, ever, ever to ManU Been to the Reebok a few times.... generally when Bolton play Charlton, son and hubby are avid Charlton fans, and that's how it should be, our local team these days, and my children used to go to school with the children of 3 ex Charlton players (Dean Keily- gaolkeeper, and Clive Mendonca- striker, both lived on our estate and sent their children to the local primary). I'm torn at the Charlton v Bolton matches.... don't really care who wins, but it makes home life easier if Charlton do.
Guest
are you going to the Bolton-Charlton game in half term - it's on the wednesday night... I'll be there with my 10yr old Ivan Campo fan daughter - and possibly the missus... last time I took my daughter to watch Bolton play Charlton, Bolton won 4-1 (she's my lucky mascot!) Martin B
I always wear my "Lucky" scarf to a match, it has recieved quite a bit of stick over the last few years but now people are beginning to think it migh actually be lucky! Charlton are bottom of the league!
Cate in NZ
Charlton are bottom of the league! Yes Martin, thank you for reminding me We're probably going down.... but remember you can't keep a good team down for long, once we get this manager sorted we'll be back Actually, what the heck, it's the rest of them that are interested in football- I display a pretence at a passing interest as it's the principle hobby of the male members of my family I'm not actually that bothered. Phil, I don't know about the Bolton vs Charlton match, hubby was talking about buying tickets only the other day.... but I forgot to ask him if he'd done it. Certainly I've not spoken to Mum about overnight accomodation... so I think that's a no then, otherwise I could be in for a bit of a suprise. I have got leave over half term though I'll check with my menfolk when they get back.... surprise, surprise son's playing right now, hubby's refereeing at a different match in a different part of London. Great Dur.... just been to check the stash of Charlton tickets (they gave up the season ticket a couple of years ago, and now just go to the matches they want/ can get tickets for).... Carling Cup, Charlton v Bolton... at the Valley...Weds 25th October.... they'll be there Not me though.
Richard T
Do you remember those "tiger striped" shirts Hull City used to wear a few years ago? Truly awful. As for derbies, Cardiff v the mighty Swans is always one to avoid. www.footballderbies.com describes it as "assumably (sic) the most violent derby in Britain."
