leopardstar
Does anyone have any experience of sexing pekin bantum chicks? At waht age is it obvious whether they are hens or cockerels? I have heard it is younger than some breeds.
feemcg
Looking at pics on Feathersite, the pullets seem to have very small combs and wattles, they don't seem to grow until they're more mature hens. I have 4 Mottled hatching as we 'speak'
Egg Lou
Hi I hatched pekins last year and it was very easy to tell the girls from my single boy at an early age. He had a more noticable comb from point of hatch and by 3 three weeks it was very obvious as comb and wattles both very red and on show, whereas the girls still had tiny pale pink/yellow combs and wattles could hardly be seen. He was much bolder too
