FORENSICA
Hi, I would like to knit some but though I would rather ask first before I risk my own ideas I forgot, some time ago I was asking you about the hen netting from Omlet. So here is me girls' new enclosure! http://bjrn.net/gallery/Garden-and-shed/DSCF5264

FORENSICA
Why aren't they recommended?
tidygirlsuk
Did you have to cut your netting. It looks great.
FORENSICA
Did you have to cut your netting. It looks great. Thanks, I am very pleased with it. Now I do not feel guilty that they do not have enough space. Did not have to cut it, it is rolled and making a barrier between Eglu and the shed. Like that I can clean and take eggs without entering the run.
buffie
Why aren't they recommended? They aren't recommended by BHWT because they can cause injury, tripping, getting tangled etc. I'm also unsure about temperature regulation to be honest. Ex bats really are tough girls but do need time to get fit, dry shelter and some tlc of course. A heat lamp can be used for the very bald girls but not this time of year Hope this helps Buffie x
Barkisland
I saw the title of this thread and thought ooo, a battery hen jumper - I'd like one of those too... Not recommended? Why ever not? It took me a while to realise this was not a knitting pattern for a nice jumper for 'me'. Gawd, I need a holiday!
Egluntyne
Never mind knitting patterns.......how about some pictures of Kristina?
Electricbarbarella
I know they are not recommended, we did use them, my mum got the pattern from Little hen rescue site I think, it was however snowing when we got them, i dont think they would need them now. We also only used them for about 3 or 4 days while they still werent ,moving about much. once they started moving about we used them at night for about another week while they adjusted.
