The Dogmother
OK, I am just about to book a week off in August and as it's our *ahem* anniversary we thought we'd go away for a couple of days. I am looking for a dog-friendly B&B in Devon, lots of walking, some time on the coast. We'd need a family room and prefer local produce if possible Any recommendations? Have found this lovely place in Cornwall (a bit further) but am waiting for them to respond to my enquiry
ClaireG
My Auntie and her two labs have just come back from a few days in Devon. I've mailed her to ask where she stayed. Hope the cornwall people get back to you soon, it looks lovely Clare
The Dogmother
Thanks Claire. I will call the Cornwall place if they don't respond.
ClaireG
My Auntie and her dogs stayed here! My Auntie said she got a much better price than quoted on the site by phoning them. http://www.twobridges.co.uk/pet-friendly-accommodation.html

ClaireG
Knowing my Auntie, her and her dogs won't of been forgotten Not that any of them are badly behaved So if you ring it's Basil and Hugos owner that recommened them!
Redwing
I've got a Pets Welcome book if you want me to dig it out?
chelsea
Whereabouts in Devon Clare?
chelsea
Found one! This one looks quite nice - organic milk for breakfast, FR eggs, and looks as though by their photo gallery they have their own hens. Dogs are pictured in rooms and there are kennels if required. Barnstaple is handy for North Devon (Woolacombe, Ifracombe etc) and North Cornwall/Bude etc. http://www.twitchen.co.uk/ No charge for dogs and they have farm walks and a hosepipe and stable for muddy hounds
theherd123
How about Old Cotmore Farm? www.oldcotmorefarm.co.uk
chelsea
Found another (sorry to swamp you!) The majority of the ones I found are Exmoor/North Devon way. This farm has been featured in Rick Steins food heros and on HFW, looks nice with hot tub! http://www.hindonfarm.co.uk/accommodation.htm
The Dogmother
Those look lovely Chelsea, will investigate and email tomorrow. Em, looks like those are just cottages rather than B&B (or did I miss something? ) We're only going for 2 nights, so B&B is the only option really. Edit, I did a bit of searching earlier and this place has spaces in its Barn for two nigths int he week I hope to take off. I will look further tomorrow. Seagazer
Freddie, Twitchen Farm looks great and I have bookmarked it! We always stay in Woolacombe. Tried a caravan place with the dog last year but it was really rank so we're bakc to our original place this year without the dog. I will see if I can work on changing everyone's mind about where to stay for next year Claret I hope you have a lovely time. Devon is my favorite place. The Dogmother
Well, thank you all for your excellent suggestions - I have bookmarked them for future trips On the recommendation of a friend; I have emailed this place to book their offer of two nights in their barn. Ideal for what we need. I hope that they haven't booked up overnight! I will be posting a report and photos of course
theherd123
Sorry Claret - speed reading again! They are self catering not B&B, the other places look fab though
chelsea
The one you have booked looks lovely Clare. Handy for Dartmoor and the south coast of Devon too.
The Dogmother
Thanks Chelsea - the south coast is less familiar to to me, so it will be fun exploring
