Couperwife
how lovely one of my best friends has just told me that she is pregnant and i'd love to make her one of these, did you work from a pattern or was it a "make it up as you go along" design. you are very clever, there are some lucky babies around cathy x

The block is 5 in square then 2in strip on 2 sides. So very simple but I enjoyed arranging the blocks but still got 2 with same colour next to each other. Why don't you have a go for your friend. bigmommasally
They're lovely, very pretty colours. I'm in awe of everyone who makes quilts, they're such big projects to take on.
Chook n Boo Mum
I'm going to have a go at making something very simple (fairly large blocks of navy & white checks/stripes) with a fleece backing for DS's house master's almost one year old son...are you keeping up?!.....as a leaving pressie. The last day we will see them is Friday, therefore I have to get a wriggle on & it can't be too elaborate! I'm going to make it a bit bigger than a cot quilt so he can use it as he gets bigger, on a diddy bed, in the car, in front of the TV..... Wish me luck !! Chook n Boo Mum
Thanks Plum, the last day of term is Friday so everything has to be done by then, & DS only said last night that he'd like to give the little son a pressie last night on the way back to boarding school...my own fault really I shouldn't have told him what I was making for a friend's son !!! The little lad's dad is taking up a post at a more sport orientated school in North London (I think!) DS is upset about his departure but the new chap seems very nice & the boys like him, so I hope the transition is a smooth one ! ....this is not getting that blanket done either ...... I must avoid the forum ......I must avoid the forum...I must avoid the forum.....!!!! Sha x
