is it just an usumption on my part or are chickens supposed to lay in the morning? we have had are hens for about a month now but they dont lay until the afternoon... they layed in the morning for the first week now its like 300pm some days.... what time should they be laying?

my black tail lays any time between 07:00 and 10:30 used to be between 10:00-10:30 until this week

the columbine is a mid morning girl if she can be bothered lays 2 on 2 off the about ever 3rd Friday lays some time after 16:00 but before 18:00 then has 3 days off

mine lay between 10 am and 3 pm most days . two of mine lay together which must be bit of a squash

One of mine lays early in the morning and a few lay by lunch. A couple of them don't lay until 3.00 in the afternoon!

i forgot to mention that i leave them in the run until they have layed... otherwise they lay in the lavender bush?! if i let them in the garden in the morning they lay by 9am

Onion lays by 6:30am without fail (which is when I go to let them out for a bit of early morning free ranging). Sage is a bit later, usually laying about 9:00am. No idea why they're so far apart, but they seem quite happy living in the eglu on a time-share basis.

Well Hermione is the only one laying at the moment. She has started laying between 10.30 and 11.30. Can't wait for Bob and Berny to get going now.

One of mine lays between 10 and 2 - the other gets later and later each day and yesterday she was still on the nest at 7pm!. Then she'll miss a day and we start all over again.

SJ takes the lead at 7am, followed closely by Nursie and then Jemima seems to vary between 8 and 10am.

I read that the egg production cycle takes 25 hours on average, so they'll have a little pattern of say 10am, and then it will get longer and then they might miss a day. seems to happen with mine!

We seem to be back on track with our three a day after a month or so of confuzzlement. We now have all three eggs by 1:30pm - the first one is usually laid about 8:30am
