Time off work! where does it go?!

Recommended Posts

Why does time off work go so quickly??

I've had this week off and it really does feel like ive never been away from it! i really dont want to go back on Monday morning!! Although i have made the most of the weather and got the front and back garden uptogether and decided what colour i want to paint my kitchen!

Also is there anyone out there who loves their job? i really dont want to be doing what im am but i feel so bad at moaning abt it seeing as some people dont even have a job at the moment! Id'' love to do something with animals but seeing as we are struggling for money all the time at the moment i know working with animals is notourisly bad pay. I used to work in an estate agent which i also loved, only doing admin but i got to do everything else and paid commission for it as well but that is the worst trade to be in at the moment! i got made redundant from 2 estate agents last year! im working in a architects now but its soooooo quiet and boring and just not the livley fast paced livley environment im used to working it which makes doing something i dont want to even harder!!

Sorry for the moan i appreciate these are hard times but i really wish i knew what i wanted to do in school and had started working towards something!!

It's a strange time warp zone during holidays. I am counting down the last three weeks of term but I know the school holidays will fly by at an amazing rate. No one likes going back to work after hols but once back you'll soon fall back into routine. :D

I know what you mean - weekends always fly by too! I've always believed that the difficult thing in life is knowing what you want. If you've got a really clear goal you'll get there, and you'll be prepared to make sacrifices to get there, but most of us don't really know what we want and so we muddle on, and since bills have to be paid and life lived while we're thinking about what we want to do, it's not easy to make changes.

I'm lucky - my job has its boring bits, but it's secure, quite well-paid and some of it is interesting and challenging. I've also done worse jobs, much worse ones, so when I'm fed up I reflect on the fact that I am indoors, warm and dry and able to sit down most of the day. Having said that, if I could start all over again I would probably do something like horticulture or countryside management. I wouldn't earn much but it would have been more fulfilling, however life is too short to have regrets so I don't!

Is there a hobby or an interest that you'd really like to pursue? Could you do any courses to move you into a different area of work? I would give up work tomorrow if I could afford to, and I would still be busy all day long. Maybe you could just do something outside work that stimulates you - an evening class or a hobby that you've always wanted to do.

When all else fails me, I recall this simple equation that a friend once told me: Work = beer tokens!

i bet you dont! especially if you get the weather i have had on my week off as well!! What job do you do?

:lol::lol: my area of 'expertise' (if you like) is office proceses, I have worked for the same employer for 11 years and have done lots of different thngs during that time, they get me on project teams when things are changing and I love to be part of the change rather than the one moaning about it after its happened
