zmurffi
Hi I did ask this question previously but think it was one of the ones that were mistakenly deleted. I should be receiving my lilac Eglu this Friday and hopefully getting 2 or 3 hens early next month. Still not sure which ones to choose. Its very exciting and I'm busy compiling a list of all the things I need (and probably don't really need). Worrying about foxes, rats and poison garden plants and just generally being a newbie. I have been learning so much by reading through the comments on the forum but am feeling rather lonely. Am I the only person on the North Norfolk coast. I did receive a reply from someone talking about an Omlet meet up which may be in Norfolk. I know of only one other Eglu near me and that is in the local playgroup. I would also like to attand a Hen Party but the nearest one seems to be in Bury St. Edmunds which is miles away. Surely Norfolk people have Eglus too. I await patiently to hear from you all. Thanks Shaz
Falkor
Where abouts are you in North Norfolk? I think it was me that responded to your previous thread about the Meet....i think we are still aiming for August bank holiday weekend..... I thought I was all alone in my part of cambs when it came to but in the last 9 months have found another four people! One who is a two minute walk! The forum is great for advice and reassurance but a hen party would be great for you to attend. Em x Edited August 5, 2009 by Guest

legend21
Shaz, dont live anywhere near you, but as a relative newbe, just wanted to reassure you not to worry about the bad things (fox/rats/poison) the good far outweigh the bads, if the bads happen. Enjoy your Cube and your girls, I spend loads more time in the garden than I ever have before as I just love to look at them and mine are raggle taggle exbats and I think they are lovely Jackie
zmurffi
Hiya I don't think I set up to PM. Sorry not ignoring you. I'm near Mundesley/Cromer/Wroxham/Stalham. About half an hour from Norwich. May be interested in the meet up depending where it is. Is it just individuals or a family day out. I'm sure I'll be better and more relaxed when I get my lovely ladies. I think there's more of us around than what we think ha ha. This forum is great reading others' experiences, stories and good advice. I shall be on here all the time now ----- especially when the chooks arrive!!!

Janty
I've posted another get together at my house if anybody is interested...just let me know. I am having a BBQ at mine for some non-chickeny friends, bless them, but I'm always open to hosting a bigger party. There would be chicken snuggling galore although they would have to stay in the run...remember me having to wrestle my brahma when she pinched a pork chop last year? Rona
I havent seen Rona post for a while. I'm here! zmurffi, I live in south norfolk but I am often up your way as MIL lives in North Walsham. Happy to arrange to drop in and see you or meet for coffee somewhere if you want a chat. I am no expert but have been through the phase of worrying about everything and feeling I had to have enough powders and potions to open a shop

OllieNLucys Mum
Hiya my OH worked in Norwich for 3 years. As we live in Wiltshire it was too far to commute each day so we bought a caravan in Bacton and he lived there during the week. I also spent three whole summers up there so know the area you are in We are all in Wilts now but still have the caravan and spend as much time there as we can. It's getting more difficult now though as we need to find people to look after our ever increasing brood of animals often my daughter and i come up on our own. We have recently got a cube and have a young hen and cockerel living in it( my son got them as chicks) Also 2 welsummer hens in a stable that I need to integrate. zmurffi
Bacton - I'm minutes away - it is lovely up here - moved here 9 years ago. Perhaps when you are here sometime you may like to pop in and meet my nun's, sorry I mean hens (read my other post "The convent has arrived" and you'll understand). I will be getting them around middle of August. You can PM me if you like for details.

zmurffi
Well it looks like I will never be all alone with my chickens in Norfolk. - Nice to hear from so many people. Looking forward to perhaps meeting some of you in the near future. This forum is great for talking & learning "chicken stuff" and getting to know people. Thanks all.
