*mummy_hen*
I thought some of you may find it useful to know...it IS possible to get pet chickens insured...as well as ducks, geese and the like. I managed to get my ex-batt girlie insured with a company called Exotic Direct, i pay £5 a month and can claim up to £1500 a year for injury, sickness or disease. When i think how much money we have spent over the last year, i really wish i had found this company before Anyway, thought some of you may find it useful, if so their contact number is 01444 412118. Patricia W
Is that each chicken or does it cover a number of them?
*mummy_hen*
I think it gets a bit cheaper the more you insure but as i only have one girl left i pay £5 a month for her. It might be cheaper if they aren't ex-batts as well, not sure. I only pay something like £8 for both my ducks.
Falkor
Is there an excess you have to pay?
*mummy_hen*
£35 - i didn't think that was too bad!
Chucky Mama
£35 - i didn't think that was too bad! I suppose it depends on the price of a standard consultation. I would rather put the money away. If you have 4 brown hens, who is to say which one is insured You could give them all the same name I once knew someone who did that with 2 black cats
WitchHazel
I once knew someone who did that with 2 black cats Shame one was a boy and the other a girl.....

Olly
*ahem* Can I just point out that defrauding an insurance company could not only lead to cancellation of your policy and difficulty in getting ANY other insurance (not just pet insurance) but could lead to criminal prosecution ... you'd never guess what industry I work in, would you? Lewis
I don't have pet insurance, so no fraud here
