Biker Chick
Did anyone else watch The Rat Pack on BBC 1 last night? It made me feel quite How anyone can actually enjoy that line of work is totally beyond me!!! One positive thing it did for me though, I shall defo make sure that I keep my beady eye out for those horrible critters Just imagine though, having rats in your house. I knew a girl once who had them in her house. She had just moved in and she opened the oven door and a rat jumped at her from inside the oven I think I would have died!!!!! chocchick
The trailer looked quite good, but not seen it. I think those dogs are amazing the way they can catch rats.

I've not heard of the show, but I have heard that domestic rats make great pets, don't bite and are quite intelligent, I want a white one with red eyes, but not getting any new pets at the mo... LaPoule
Every spring we get mice in our attic, but this year we got a rat. Could hear it scurrying around chewing on MY HOUSE while I was trying to sleep . It was so loud that we had to sleep in the living room. Tried humane traps - not intersted. Tried normal traps - not interested. Tried poison - eventually it took some and is now decomposing somewhere in the loft insulation!! Eurgh! (Luckily the attic is very dry, so no smell - but still, I know it's there!) For the record - rats are fine as pets, it's when they're scurrying around in the night, peeing on my stuff and eating my insulation that I have issues... Valkyrie
We had pet rats - adorable funny little things. The only drawback is that they can pong because they secrete urine so that they are marking wherever they go. Females aren't as smelly as males - not sure about whether neutered males would be as bad. But if they are cleaned regularly it's fine. We had four and each one was so different. One was a very timid rescue rat - white with pink eyes (Pixie). OH thought she looked evil. Poor little thing. Truffles was the eldest, an agouti - intrepid explorer and cleverest - she was the longest living. Then Flash (she was the cleaner - cleaned everything - turfed out their bedding when it needed changing and washed everyone. She also had a Harry Potter lightning flash on her head. Last of all Dinky the baby. She loved to jump - she loved her food a little too much and when she was alseep she looked like a snowball. But boy could she move when she wanted to. Very nosey and an attention seeker! But vermin - nope, no way. Now they really do smell horrible, totally different. Vile!
