Angels4
I got my first egg from one of the girls today (weeks before I thought I would) as I haven't started feeding layers yet (still on growers) it was a softy and was destroyed but it was layed in the nesting box. Off to the stockist for some layers mash/calcium.

Angels4
Congratulations how old are your girls now? Shame it wasn't edible. By my calculations they are just about 20 weeks, give or take a few days...Now Coco Chanel (BO) is acting all strange, in and out of the nest box and SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. She is either getting ready to lay or is very angry the egg is now missing.

Angels4
Lewis, please tell me this isn't something she is going to do every time she lays. I would rather NOT have any eggs from her if she is going to make this racket.....
Angels4
I got my second egg yesterday. Although it was only 40grams it was perfect in every way. The girls never cease to amaze me as I wasn't expecting any eggs until sometime in August.

saracook31
Congrats! Our younger girls are all very noisy layers, the ex bats don't usually make a sound and are quick to give the young girls a "shut up" peck when they're showing off too much!
