[Raina]

wobbler is hatching!

I heard loads of cheeping looked in the bator, and there was a big long hole, just even more waiting now lol

Will take some webcam pics

[Raina]

IT'S A CHICKEN!!!!

[Griffin]

[Raina]

It's such a cute little

Will try & post some pics later!! (i've took tons, including some of it hatching)

[Chook n Boo Mum]

Congratulations Raina is the other one showing any signs yet.........don't open the incy just in case it is pipped underneath...(I think) Wobbler will be ok for another 24 hours in the incy & may even encourage the other one to get a shift on

How tiny is the little one? Our Light Sussex babies seemed very diddy but Seramas are very tiny at fully grown so chicks must be miniscule.

Just looked at the time of your announcement ...Did you get any sleep last night ......where are those piccies..........

[Raina]

The other egg isn't doing anything

and it's soo tiny, but it has a right gob on it

What do i do if the other egg doesn't hatch, will the chick be OK on it's own or will i need to get it some friends?

Oh and it has a yellow belly,Black/brown back.

Will try and uploads pics from my PC to my phone, then from my phone to my sis's pc

I've tried to put them in order but i'm so tired i've probably got them the wrong way round lol

[Chook n Boo Mum]

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh , what a little poppet Welcome to the world little Wobbler

Raina you are going to have to resist the temptation to snuggle that little bundle until you are certain the other one either isn't going to hatch to has popped out.........I know I'd find it very hard

Are you going to be able to find other "siblings" to keep Wobbler company Raina...either here or in Wales? Somebody with experience will be along soon to advise about that I'm sure

[Raina]

I've been looking since 7am for day old chicks near to me but can't seem to find any

It looks big the the pics but it's really tiny! it's egg was the same size as one of my fake pigeon eggs

Oh and it's still wobbling around when walking,is this normal at nearly 8 hours old?

and it keeps tapping the other egg? is that normal too

I won't be naming it till it's about 7 days old.

My 10 yr old nephew want's me to call it Jeffrey if it's male

[Chook n Boo Mum]

I'd say it's trying to encourage it's playmate out with the pecking, but maybe that's my "romantic" mind playing tricks, I've never hatched with an incy and only once with a feathery mum so my experience is all gained on here rather than in the flesh so to speak.

My DS wanted to call ours Jethro and Sid or Stanley , he settled for naming DD's triops Jethro instead and the chicks are known as Mr Yellow Legs and White Back at the mo with the little girl is Lilac or may become Viola as she's got a splodge of purple spray on her back to aid identification

Where are you at the mo Raina? Perhaps someone on here knows of some new hatches which aren't on t'interweb.

Good luck with your hunt,

[Raina]

I'm in the west-midlands!

i found a couple of places but they were either sold out or were too far away

I'm not sure but i think i might of seen the egg slightly wobble, but that could of been the vibrations from wobbler moving about?

[Chook n Boo Mum]

[Raina]

i feel so sorry for it!

It keeps coming to the window & cheeping & is trying to cuddle up to stuff.

And i think i just saw the egg wobble

Webcam is back on now

[Chook n Boo Mum]

Fingers crossed for the other little one , I'll have another look at the webcam when I'm home from the school run,

It's pooped in the incubator!

do i clean it out or leave it in there?

also is it a normal colour? it's turned the paper a yellow/ green colour?

I totally mis-read that and thought you meant the egg had popped!

Clicked on the webcam to make sure chicky was ok! It is very cute

Not sure about cleaning the poop if you are still hoping the other egg will hatch.

Someone will be about soon I am sure!

[Redwing]

Leave the poop until you take the chick out then whip the poop out with some kitchen roll quickly - dont leave the lid off for more than a few seconds as the humidity is critical to the last egg

If you cant get the poop out don't worry about it

[Raina]

Thanks, & Thanks Tasha!

I'm getting up at 6am so i can turn the brooder on to warm it up!

I have to get up at 6 anyway, need to do more packing up lol

& I'll try and do it as quick as i can

[Raina]

I was scared to pick him up

My hands were shaking lol

I think it was cuz i thought i'd break him

Well the incubator is now clean, and the chicklit is now in his brooder in his little pouch sleeping (It's really cute, will try & get pics)

[Chook n Boo Mum]

Aaawww, I can't wait to see the piccies.................any news on the other one
