Chook n Boo Mum
This morning we "lost" Peanut and found her in the nest box - where I've never seen her go before, cheeky monkey!! When we got back from dropping DD at Gymnastics, she launched herself down the ladder & pootled around the WIR. I checked the NB to see if she'd been busy, or just testing the other chooks house for comfort & discovered a lash, 2 soggy membranes and a puddle of egg white . From what I remember, a lash isn't anything to worry too much about, but as she's a battie is probably getting towards the end of her laying life I thought I'd just check. I've not found a lash since I first got them back at the and of January & never one this big...want a piccy? Sha x
Ain't Nobody Here
Err, no, you're alright. I'm happy just imagining it . You're right not to worry, they seem to be fairly common and usually one-offs. I bet she's glad to have got all that out of her system . JillM
Sorry Chook n Boo Mum, didn't mean to disturb you. That's the problems with us newbies, we like to spend ages trawling through old posts looking for anything interesting - nuggets of forgotten knowledge, perhaps. It probably won't be the last old post I resurrect, but anything chicken related is good knowledge! What was it about Crocs, anyway?
Chook n Boo Mum
Sorry Tiggy, I can't remember if she laid again, I think so but not sure for how long ..I do know I found the tiniest little egg in the nestbox one day which I attributed to Pea, it was about the size of a raspberry....that I think was her last egg, bless little heart Crocs.........would that be the Omleteer footwear of choice, in any shade & style , personally I only have the Nadia boots in fuschia, very comfy and washable too
Tiggy
Sorry Tiggy, I can't remember if she laid again, I think so but not sure for how long ..I do know I found the tiniest little egg in the nestbox one day which I attributed to Pea, it was about the size of a raspberry....that I think was her last egg, bless little heart ooh I found a tiny little egg yesterday, Saffy seems to be OK bossing all the others about again & crouching today, so who knows
JillM
I have a pair of flip flop style Crocs, do they count?
Chook n Boo Mum
Crocs is crocs, they all count Saffy sounds perfectly happy in her world, I wouldn't worry too much Tiggy Ithink they eventually deserve a retirement, so my girls all stay until the end, regardless of their laying status Sha x
