Joojoo
I've just read the terribly sad story about Wilbur the Cat http://www.justiceforwilbur.co.uk/Justice_for_Wilbur_/Home.html If you feel strongly about this, as I do, please sign the petition at the bottom of the page. It won't bring Wilbur back but may save someone else's pet or child in the future. Many Thanks

Couperwife
13 FOOT LONG!!!! sorry for shouting, but I dont leave my chickens on their own, what sort of nutter keeps a 13 ft long snake in the backgarden and doesnt keep it contained? I know people with snakes, but surely common sense says "if you have a snake that is a threat, you keep it safe" it does with dangerous (or otherwise) dogs. ok, ill stop ranting now cathy x

Joojoo
Thanks everyone I've not got an issue with snakes at all, at the end of the day they are only doing what comes naturally but there should be some legislation in place to make sure the responsibility firmly lies with the owner to stop this from happening again

mostin
I've joined on facebook and signed. It's so sad , and so unecessary. A snake of that size can't be contained in a normal house! Surely it needs a special environment? I can't believe EHO's can bother lots of us for the noise of a cockerel and there is nother to stop someone owning an animal that can kill a child! The world is a mad place indeed.
Yorkshire Pudding
Wasn't there a recent story about a toddler that was strangled by the family's pet snake, somewhere in the States? It doesn't bear thinking about. Poor Wilbur. What kind of fool releases a large predator in their back garden?
redbug
I have signed. Terrible sad story. Could it slither over the fence?
Ygerna
Poor Wilbur. I'd be devastated if that happened to my cat. Imagine if one got hold of a small child. I've signed. I keep thinking about my youngest son, hes just over one, and if he falls asleep in his pushchair I often leave him in it in the garden. It makes me feel physically sick to imagine 'what if'. I have signed.
Gem_Seb
this was near me, my OH sister works in the cats protection charity shop and the man came in when it first happened asking for their support. So sad, horrible to think people can just leave dangerous animals unattended, your not allowed to leave a dangerous dog unattended so why is this any different!! Things like this make me so mad! its all about people taking responsibilty...
Old Speckled Hen
what sort of nutter keeps a 13 ft long snake in the backgarden and doesnt keep it contained? cathy x Tell me When I was working I did a pictorial essay on people that looked like their pets. Just for my own amusement, you understand. You'd be amazed ... or probably not really ... how many thugs kept dangerous pets. The ones that couldn't afford a phallic car kept a dangerous pet.(sorry mods is that allowed ) I've signed ...............
