Hi All

In September's Kitchen Garden magaine, the chicken chappy says he gives his chicks Lifeguard tonic.

 

Anyone else do this please?

 

I'm feeding Smallholder Chick Crumbs, and I had thought these would be fine on their own. I do have Lifeguard tonic for the Garden Girls, so it's not as if I have to go out and buy some.

My chicks are on ACV and have been since they were around two week old. I was told they could have been having it from day old but I hadn't realised. I'm just sticking with that so far.

Battles is ok for chicks at a reduced dose so I would imagine that Lifeguard would be too, it doesnt contain any calcium or anything as far as I know

I've had ACV in the Bufflings water and Life Guard in Buffie's as I felt she needed the extra help. The babies can't reach into her cage cup but can catch the odd drip as she slops it around

I had mine on Battles for a few days then then ACV, I'm sticking with ACV and they seem to be doing fine on it

I know of two breeders who use Life-Guard for chicks - they seem to swear by it. I haven't used it on little 'uns myself though.
