feemcg
I've no heating tonight but they brought me 2 wee fan heaters which i'm just about to put in the girls bedrooms and I borrowed a bigger one which I've got on in the lounge. I don't need one in my bedroom - good excuse for a cuddle!
One Man Banned
oh fee! What a few days you have had We had transco out a few weeks ago to replace our meter (no-one elses has had to have been replaced but ours was too old apparantly - after all it was only 11 years old!) For weeks we could smell a faint bit of gas in the utility room where the boiler is and thought that it was just not burning as well as it should. When the meter was replaced and all connected the nice chap said that we had a leak somewhere that was quite large. After a check of all the gas appliances the man discovered that there is a part of the boiler that has been leaking gas for ages. The scary part is that it has always been loud when it ignites but if not fixed that bang would be enough to literally blow the front off the boiler. I was horrified but got our local guys that we always use straight in and the job was fixed for about £250. I can only imagine what the outcome could have been but the gas bill should be a little cheaper in future! Hope they don't make too much mess with the work Fee. A xx
feemcg
They've just started lifting the hall floor - supposed to he here at 9.30! I can't watch - I've spent a fortune doing the house up in the last couple of years - it seems a bit destructive, but I know it has to be done. The contactor said that the joiner made a mess of refitting someones wooden floor and he (the gas contractor) had to pay for a new one. Mmmm.....I can feel a new floor coming on!
