Will you both be there to mop up my tears when I have to send them away and you made me get attached!

I am thinking

Lemon Pekin - Lemon

Red Pekin - Fudge

Black Pekin cross - Treacle (still not sure on that one)

Buff Pekin Cross - Honey

Frizzle - Ugly....joke.......

Silkie - Pip

Got a bit scared as you are using my full first name  But I have a middle name so HAH!

yes she can move to a house with bigger garden nearer me, that would work for me..

Sounds like a plan Cookie! :D So if you could let me have this saturdays lottery numbers........:lol::lol:

I think the noise is more to do with new surroundings so hopefully they will settle down in a day or so.

Or maybe I will just put Old Speckled Hen into their run. She is my resident enforcer and plays bouncer to Gin's Queen Chook role. And if that doesn`t work she could always sit on them and muffle the sound out!

the little one in the blue t-shirt and shorts looks cute -:lol: Loving the foody names too,(clever with names Cookie is isnt she  )

Yep, Cookie is like Yoda when it comes to naming chooks.....it must run in the family as it was her Dad that named Brandy and Saffy for me :D

And the little one in the blue T-shirt doesn`t lay eggs i am afraid....OH says she is a freeloader...eating him out of house and home.....

Just got home from work to find my new ladies happily chuntering away in their dustbath.

AND...a little white egg in the run :D

the egg had been laid at the eglu end of the run but just out of reach via the egg port so I am off to get changed and do some crawling on my hands and knees in wet woodchip to retrieve it.

My four laying ladies are back on form too with three eggs a day for the last three days. I assume Old Speckled Hen is the one not laying as she is moulting

awwww who laid it??

Wellllll...i think it was Honey (buff pekin cross) as she crouches everyone....however I just had to catch an escapee............Treacle (black pekin cross) and she also crouched for me so I spose it could have been her.

All six of them were having a broody sit in not six days ago so I am pretty happy that I have an egg already :D even if I had to kneel in some un-mentionables to retirieve it!

Tasha, ur plan with the stick is a much better one. Will hunt out a stick to leave with their (green eglu):D

ooooooh you named them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well how could she not name them when her full name was being bandied around............ :anxious:

Congratulations Em, a little white egg..I've forgotten what one of them looks like as none of my Orpies have laid sensibly for weeks.........not since Buffie went broody actually (about a dozen in nearly 8 weeks  )...and now it looks like they've been having a pillow fight around the garden, maybe that's another reason...they are ready to moult, bless 'em.

We should save all their feathers & make a duvet Em!! How bald can I expect my lot to get, do they go over-ready or just patchy, what's OSH like?

OSH just looks less wide really  She is still feathered and I can`t see any bare bits at the moment although if she carries on moulting like she is I reckon we could go into the feather duvet business let alone making just the one :lol: The garden is covered with brown downy feathers

Little Pip the silkie is moulting too i think but at least her feathers are confined to the eglu run for the moment and there should be considerably less than OSH as she is about an eighth of the size!
