house-elf
one of my girls is broody and i have read all the tips on how to undo it, but the problem i have is that my other girl also lays in the same nest as the one that is broody. Matilda was virtually sat on top of florrie last night and managed to lay ! I do have two nest boxes but they both seem to have picked the same one to lay in ! Do I just hope that of i put bricks/ice in etc that matilda will go lay in the other ? (Although I checked the nest this morning and matilda is again nearly sat on top of florrie so I hope she isn't going broody too) I go on holiday in 5 weeks, can I hope that she won't be broody by then, or should I do nothing and let her get on with it ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Egluntyne
Have a look **here** You need to beg or borrow a dog crate, raise it up on bricks and put her in it with food and water. She won't like it, but it won't harm her, but the cool air and nowhere comfortable to sit will snap her out of it in 3 or 4 days. Here is ANH's broody in a cage

Just a few questions though - will she be warm enough at night in it ? Will it be safe from predators (not that i'm convinced we have any )? Also I think my other one is now broody, she hasn't shifted from it at all so far today and is also displaying the same characteristics as the other one. Do I just shut the coop door for a few days with her ? Thanks for all your help...
