Griffin
Dorkings are autosexing.
Redwing
Any bird ending in 'bar' is an autosexing one so Barnebars, Welbars and Rhodebars are autosexing Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans are reletively easy to sex from a day old but its not foolproof A cross between a genetically 'silver' bird and a genetically 'gold' bird will produce autosexing youngsters for example crossing light sussex and Rhode Island Red produces chicks where one colour is the girl and the other the boy - I think its light yellow is a boy and amber is a girl or something like that
TAJ
Dorkings are autosexing. No they aren't! about 6 weeks and you can sex them - all the ones ending 'bar' autosexing - wernlas have many of the autosexing breeds. Tracy
Saronne
How about those hybrids that are created from 'bar' birds, i.e. Columbines? Saronne
sjp
hybrids from what I'm led to belive are sex linked not auto sexing. there's a technical differance apparently only the 'bars' are supposed to be auto sexing
Redwing
I remember now SJP you are correct, the 'bars' are autosexing and sex linked are the ones created by genetic tinkering that hatch different colours
sjp
I think hybrids are sexlinked because they don't bred true i.e. they're a cross of 2 or more crosses
