Croaky Rosie! *Update - Just got back from the vets*

Recommended Posts

Rosie sounds like she's got catarrah in her throat! she's sounded like this for a little while. She is ok in herself, eating, drinking, and laying. She's not been sneezing or anything like that. We were wondering what it could be?, thinking about taking her along to the vet for a check up.

Just wondering if there are any omlet rememedies that may help her.

Thanks :D

My girls sneeze but I've not had this before. Iwould recommend a call to the breeder you got her from or maybe a call first to the vet. You may be able to avoid a visit and unnecessary charges.

She may just have a bit of a cold - do you use any kind of tonic in her water? Lifeguard or Battles and Citricidal?

I just wanted you to have someone post you a reply as I can see from your other thread you're still reaching out for responses.

Let's hope someone else come along soon that can help.

OH just got back from the vets with Rosie and it is an infection, he's given her Baytril. She's making a noise like she's got asthma when she breathes. He said if that doesn't work then there's not much else that can be done :( She's alright in herself, wandering around the garden etc but I'm worried now. Please get well soon Rosie :(

He looked at Matilda's foot and said it looks as though her toenail has been ripped off and it's fine no swelling or anything and she's not bothered by it.

There's an egg withdrawal period for Rosie of up to 2 days after the Baytril treatment ended.

I'm not worried about missing out on eggs, just want her to get better. He said about the other girls cause it's an infection they could catch it, so far the others seem to be ok so fingers crossed :pray:

Has Baytril worked for you Egluantine?

She seems like there's nothing wrong with her other than the breathing noise! but I suppose they can go downhill pretty quickly. She's not laid for a few days either. They have never had anything wrong with them in the 20 months we have had them, suppose it can be expected :(:(
