21st Birthday Present ideas please

Recommended Posts

My daughter is 21 later this month. She does not like jewellery and does not want a watch. I am having so much difficulty in thinking of what to get her. I think her main present might be a plane ticket to visit her friend in the USA, but any other ideas for fitting 21st birthday presents? Any ideas welcome!

The plane ticket sounds brill  I arranged a day at a studio for my daughter, where she was pampered, had hair styling, make-up and a professional photo taken, which takes pride of place in her bedroom. It's not cheap, but a great way for her to remember her 21st. Or you could always buy her a car :!: lol.

How about a photobook for her? They are smashing and quite cheap. Just got Mum one for her 65th! Although some might think it strange that I put the cat on the front cover not my Dad!!!

I second the sewing machine idea! I nearly got one for my 21st (many years ago) but asked for a bike instead. I do still have the bike though, in good working order.

How about a tent and a sleeping bag for going to festivals?

Oh my, that was my choice for my 21st - a bike or a sewing machine! I chose the bike as I needed it to get to work and it was my first ever brand new shiny bike, not a hand me down. I still have it, but it needs a new inner tube. Not bad for a 16 year old bike.

Lol! i will suggest it, but I think she is more a Jimmy Choos sort of girl! Talking of bikes, I have just got mine out and dusted it off and am cycling to work. My bike came to me in 1971, and it wasn't new then, but it still works!

Where in the States does her friend live???can you arrange a fantastic day doing something there. balloon flight/ VIP day at something..you know the type of thing....you would never forget that would you? And what about a camera to record it all on? (Note to fellow omleteers isn't it easy to spend someone else's hard-earned :D )

Thanks for all the ideas! Today is the day! She is a little ambivalent about the photobook, but I love it! Another keepsake has got held up in the post, so she doesnt have that yet.

The friend is at MIT, which is in Cambridge Mass, I think! That wont happen until next summer, probably.

I got her some other stuff, bits and pieces which she is pleased with too.
