Old Speckled Hen
I've just Listened to Al Stewarts "Year of The Cat" on Radio 2 and it brought my University days flooding back. Made me feel so wobbly and nostalgic. What music brings your memories back overwhelmingly? Edited September 8, 2009 by Guest
The Dogmother
Golly, me too. I always go back in time when I hear that one. I have one of his vinyl LPs at home. Time warp (Rocky Horror Show) Hollywood Nights (Silver Bullet Band) Lovely Day (Bill Withers) Games Without Frontiers (Peter Gabriel) Paint it Black (Stones) Imagine - always reminds me of the night they announced Lennon's death. ....the list is endless
Couperman
Natalie Umbrugglianisma's 'Torn' always reminds of moving into this house, alone, well almost alone............ . I was quite paranoid about every little noise during the night, it didn't help that the house was haunted either. I only had a telly a cheap 2 seater settee and of course Sky TV and a fridge for my beer Batchelor priorities and all that. That was the first song I heard on VH1 after I moved in. It was a great feeling having my own place and every time I hear that song It takes me back to those lovely if somewhat spooky days. Kev. Space Chick
Whenever I hear Diana Ross "Chain Reaction" it takes me back to my school Drama Club. Also Crowded House "Fall at my feet" makes me have butterflies, as it takes me back to when Phil and I were falling in love. Maybe I should have put those the other way around Ah well they are in chronological order, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it

Maybe I should have put those the other way around Ah well they are in chronological order, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it Chain Reaction makes me think of majorettes! When I first started we did a display to that song. lol Loads of songs make me nostalgic. One recent one is 'Had a Nice Day' by Jack Johnson I think, which makes me think of my two eldest (ED and DS) on our trampoline making up a dance together. 'Wires' by Athlete makes me think of my YD. Even though it wasn't out when she was born, it took me straight back to the NICU unit where she was for 4 weeks. The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, New Order plus many, many more - I'm right back to being a teenager.
Ain't Nobody Here
"Yesterday" always takes me back to slow dancing with an Austrian boy when I was 14 and on a school trip . "Rock the Casbah" and I'm in Bournemouth working in a cafe, aged about 19. Anything by Green on Red and I'm back in the first flush of my and OH's courting . Old Speckled Hen
Dido's "sand in my shoes" became our song when OH and I were dating. That's how we met and eventually got together How embarrassing ............. I don't even like her
chooklady
There are so many, my brain is working overtime to think of some significant ones. 'One more chance' by the Jacksons always reminds me of waiting for the ferry at Studland to go across to Sandbanks of a windy hot summer's day. 'A different corner' by George Michael makes me think of someone I met when it was too late!!!!! 'Don't call me baby' by Maddison Avenue makes me think of a fantastic night out 9 years ago, which ended with a mighty hangover, shocking. Bryan Adams 'Everything I do' reminds me of OH and my first anniversary. 'Last Christmas' by Wham reminds me of when OH and I first got together, very corny, but the opening words were quite appropriate. There are sooooo many more I could go on forever.
