Ain't Nobody Here
..... is exactly the same shape, size and colour as a Swaziland Lilangeni coin? Neither did I till I found one in my purse this morning . Love to know the journey that coin's taken . Found this on Wikipedia. It should be noted that the nickel-brass L1 coins have exactly the same dimensions and composition as the British £1 coins introduced three years earlier. As 1 lilangeni is worth about 7p at time of writing, the Swazi coins are sometimes used fraudulently in British vending machines. It might just find its way into my parking money ashtray in the car . Reikiranf
Yep, unless I'm in Lidl When we were in Bournemouth recently I was shortchanged and the cashier apologised very insincerely and laughed that she'd given me a 2p coin instead of a pound Being cynical and due to her insincerity (I would be absolutely mortified and extremely apologetic if I inadvertently shortchanged someone) I thought that could be a nice scam, as she'd only have to exchange her own 2p pieces for £1 coins out of the till at the end of the day and the cash in the till would balance as she'd ripped off the customers and not the store. ubereglu
Hahaha...I never knew that. Now, that would be a very cheap way to buy things in vending machines wouldn't it!
Blackrocksrock
We went to Bavaria many years ago on a twin town exchange with the brass band my daughter played in and in holland the kids emptied all the vending machines of chocolate as they took our 10p coin instead of what it should have been - we were waiting for the police to catch up with our bus all the way there!
