Unfortunately they don't understand the rules are as soon as the door opens they all rush me and start drinking the dog's water! The dog doesn't help. He is a border collie and feels it is his duty to bring them to me (even if I am up the garden) so he herds them into the house and then won't let them back out again! Luckily we have a tiled kitchen and bathroom so any mess can be quickly wiped up. My other half doesn't seem to understand the principal of doors and that they do actually need to be closed, so he goes out and comes back in and sits down and the next thing you hear is loads of yelling in the bathroom and 4 chooks in the back Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mindy was in for 13 days and used to sit on our knees for a cuddle and watch TV It did seem very strange when she was back outside. Funnily enough it was only our exbatts who ever came in and we used to have to run to try and beat them getting through the back door. I think she has worked out that my shoulder is the best place to be when Molly, our cat is about. I have another pic of her with OH...will hunt it out. I know my cats would be fine with them as Teddy walks among the hens like a farm cat and Batfink runs away. Dotty followed me in last week, but walked into the bathroom then fell in the bath while she was trying to perch on the edge of it. Made me laugh. I'm afraid I let mine come in the kitchen, they don't seem interested in going anywhere else. They all come in and just preen themselves and wander off again. We have a no food given on the patio outside the kitchen or in the house policy so they just come to see us it is so nice.
